Simulyze Certified by FAA as a UAS Service Supplier for LAANC Services that Authorize Airspace Requests by Drone Pilots

With the FAA LAANC partnership, Simulyze directly supports the safe integration of UAS into the nation’s airspace as one of 21 suppliers of airspace authorizations for drones.

RESTON, VA. (PRWEB) DECEMBER 19, 2019

Simulyze, Inc., a leading provider of operational intelligence (OI) technology and applications that empower both federal and commercial organizations, today announced it has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a UAS Service Supplier of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) services.

LAANC is a collaboration between the FAA and industry to help automate the application and approval process for airspace authorizations. It provides drone pilots with access to controlled airspace at or below 400 feet and awareness of where pilots can and cannot fly. It also provides air traffic professionals with visibility into where and when drones are operating.

“Simulyze is proud to be selected as an FAA partner for LAANC services that are helping the drone industry get off the ground and safely integrated into the National Airspace,” said Kevin Gallagher, president and CEO of Simulyze. “We look forward to facilitating seamless data exchanges in near-real-time between the FAA and drone operators and pilots to ensure safe and efficient UAS operations.”

LAANC automates the application and approval process for airspace authorizations for drones. If approved, pilots can receive their authorization in near-real time. Unless specifically requested in an authorization, drone pilots do not need to notify the tower before they fly. LAANC provides airspace authorizations only. Pilots must still check NOTAMs, weather conditions, and abide by all airspace restrictions.

Simulyze’s Mission InsightTM is an enterprise-level commercial solution that provides unprecedented situational awareness in real-time to UAS operators. Built on Simulyze’s proprietary operational intelligence (OI) platform, Mission Insight processes and analyzes large streams of data from disparate sources to provide air, land and sea operators, commanders and managers with a common operating picture in a customized graphical interface. From pre-operational planning to post-event analysis, Mission InsightTM creates a single, complete operational view of workflow data to enable safe and efficient commercial drone operations.

With its flagship product, Simulyze actively supports the research and development of UAS traffic management (UTM) projects with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the FAA’s Integration Pilot Program (IPP) and UTM Pilot Program (UPP).
